The Jenkins Pipeline plugin integrates Micro Focus Release Control into Jenkins Pipelines. It allows you to create pipeline steps to create and check the status of releases in order to bring governance, approvals and visibility into your DevOps processes.

Description

This plugin allows Micro Focus Release Control (RLC) to be used in and invoked from Jenkins Pipelines. It is a community supported plugin and provides the following ad-hoc build steps:

  • Create Release Package - create a new Release Package from Jenkins
  • Get Release Train State - get the state of a Release Train
  • Get Release Package State - get the state of a Release Package
  • Send ALF Event - Send an ALF event that could be used to carry out additional automation in RLC (using the SBM platform Orchestration Engine)

Micro Focus Release Control can be used across the development life-cycle but is typically used to automate releases into controlled environments (Staging/Pre-Prod/Production) and has additional enterprise capabilities above and beyond Jenkins to support this.
