Description

Service Virtualization software removes the development and testing “wait time” that can slow delivery of applications. It enables your teams to easily create realistic simulations of service behavior—so you can stay on schedule even when dependent application components or systems aren’t available. Simply put, you can focus on service quality rather than resource constraints.

Agent and Technology Updates

Kafka support is introduced as a new BETA capability, integrated across both SV Designer and SV Server.

You can design and run Kafka-based virtual services, giving teams an early way to virtualize Kafka integrations in modern, event-driven environments.

Architecture Update

The embedded server architecture has been decoupled, and the embedded runtime now uses a standalone server model.

This change enables .NET 6 support and improves compatibility with modern runtime and deployment environments, reducing the differences between local embedded usage and server-based deployments.

Security and Infrastructure

Security

  • Service Virtualization 26.3 includes continued security hardening and maintenance updates across the platform.
    • Third-party libraries and core dependencies were updated to newer supported versions to reduce security exposure and improve long-term supportability.
    • Additional .NET and Java dependency updates are included to improve maintainability.
    • Certificate handling was improved on Windows by automatically adding required chained certificates to the certificate store, reducing certificate-related setup and connectivity issues.

Bug fixes and Usability

    • Resolved an issue where projects opened in Designer from server-exported .vproja archives could reference an associated server that was not present in the Designer server list.
    • Resolved an issue where credentials cached for deleted servers could be reused unexpectedly in Designer.
    • Resolved an issue in SVM where filtering by project did not always return the expected results.
    • Resolved an inconsistency in SVM service selection behavior.
    • Improved Designer startup stability by resolving initialization/context loading issues that could cause startup errors.
    • Resolved an issue where project IDs could become inconsistent when projects were exported/imported between SVM and Designer.
    • Resolved an issue where some error messages started with incorrect text, causing SVM to group different errors under the same problem-list category.
    • The HTTPS Gateway agent no longer fails to start with “The specified network password is not correct” when loading Service Virtualization-generated PKCS#12 certificates.
    • Resolved a crash in the Designer caused by deeply nested request/response structures leading to a StackOverflowException on import.

Licensing Enhancements

  • Linux seat licensing is now supported.
  • The license technology has been updated. As a result, to install licenses you now import an XML file, and then select the licenses to install.
  • SV Server now correctly reports the maximum TPS in server logs based on the active license.

Security and Infrastructure

  • Bug fixes and Usability
    • LDAP error messages are now normalized, preventing scenarios where logs were not visible in Service Virtualization Management (SVM).
    • Uploading project archives from SVM is fixed. The upload dialog no longer becomes unresponsive when uploading .vproja files.
    • Resolved an issue preventing SVM access caused by a duplicate Strict-Transport-Security HTTP header.
  • Security

Upgrades to third‑party libraries to address security vulnerabilities and remediation of identified code vulnerabilities.

Agent and Technology Updates

  • Oracle AQ has been updated to a newer supported version.
  • TIBCO and Oracle AQ agents are now available on the Standalone SV Server.

New REST API Endpoints

Two new API endpoints have been introduced to improve monitoring and automation:

  • Download the current SV Server log file, simplifying diagnostics and troubleshooting.
  • Retrieve a list of all agents registered on the SV Server, including the services deployed on each agent.
