DMA Premium Edition Capsules for Cloud Service Automation (CSA) contain catalog-ready Service Designs and the underlying Components, Providers, Actions and other CSA elements, including the DMA Premium Operations Orchestration (OO) Flows, required to quickly deliver Database-as-a-Service (DBaaS) and Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) capabilities to your IT consumers.
Out-of-the-box CSA Service Designs support DMA Premium lifecycle use cases employing database and middleware vendor, CSA and OO best practices for standalone Oracle, SQL Server and MySQL, and for clustered Oracle and SQL Server database environments. Lifecycle management of standalone or clustered JBoss, WebSphere, WebLogic, Apache Web Server and Apache Tomcat middleware platforms are also supported.
Over 40 new Service Designs are available, supporting popular IT personas (i.e. Instance Owner, Instance Admin, Database User, etc…). Refer to the DMA Premium Capsule documentation for the complete list of supported lifecycle management capabilities and personas. Below is a subset of the use cases supported by the DMA Premium Capsule Service Designs:
- Initial provisioning of a virtual machine
- Initial provisioning of database or middleware software and a database instance
- Database or middleware provisioning to a pre-existing OS environment
- Database provisioning and database removal
- Patching of standalone and clustered database and middleware domains
- Migration or upgrade of database environments
- Upgrade of middleware environments
- Database export and import
- Useful features like starting or stopping a database or middleware instance
The DMA Premium Capsules also install the underlying DMA Premium flows into the OO environment. DMA Premium flows run as native OO content so there is no requirement to install either an HPE Server Automation or a DMA Server infrastructure. You’re quickly up-and-running, and once installed and configured, new environments can be provisioned in minutes and without administrative assistance, saving time and reducing costs. Service Designs may be tailored to conform to your operating requirements.
Contrary to most OO content, DMA Premium Edition and these Capsules require a license to use them. As such, only licensed customers of DMA Ultimate or Premium Edition or an eligible product suite (e.g. Datacenter Automation) may access or download the DMA Premium Capsules for CSA.
Capsule installation uses the CSA Capsule Installer, which can be downloaded from location https://hpln.hpe.com/contentoffering/hpe-csa-content-capsule-installer.
