SMAX-Zabbix Integration Use case

An Event is generated in Zabbix based on a triggered actions as per monitoring rule configured under Alert.

  1. For every alert creation or update, a SMAX webhook is triggered in Zabbix.
  2. The webhook in Zabbix sends the alert data to the listener in the SMAX Integration Studio.
  3. The Zabbix scenario associated with the listener is then executed.
  4. The scenario automatically creates or updates the Incident in the Service Management module of SMAX.
  5. It synchronizes key Zabbix event details such as Monitored Hostname, Trigger Name, Event ID, Severity, Problem Description, Affected Service and Event URL, displaying them as comments in the ticket.
  6. It also automatically identifies and links the Configuration Item (CI) in the incident based on the hostname from the alert.
  7. The integration engine checks the unique Event ID to prevent creation of duplicate incident tickets.
  8. Once Event Resolved in Zabbix as monitored parameter went back to normal i.e. below defined threshold. Zabbix will send Resolution details to SMAX Listener and SMAX Incident gets AUTO resolved.

Minimum Requirements

  • Zabbix is installed & configured with valid licence
  • The required port open and listening - 10051
  • Zabbix Agent are Installed & configured on all the devices for monitoring
  • Alerts actions & Triggers are well defined in Zabbix
  • Monitored Devices CIs are present in SMAX with same HostName as in Zabbix.

This Release covers below usecase for the Zabbix - SMAX Integration Connector
